Contribution
Wanting to meet your need to contribute can be a valuable starting point to mediate from. It can help you to focus on what really contributes, instead of being tempted to solve the conflict for those you mediate between. Don’t get caught in the idea that reconciliation has to happen in a specific way.
A major pitfall concerning the need to contribute is if you confuse the need to contribute with the strategy to contribute. If you are aware of the difference, you can be satisfied with what you have contributed, even if the mediation takes a different course than you hoped for.
